Three of our Sandgate Paddle Club members participated in the recent 2021 Paddle Queensland Ocean Racing State Championships held on the 7th November 2021. It was a 15km downwind course from the Southport Spit to Miami on the Gold Coast. The right conditions turned up on the morning of the race, with 10-15kts of NNE with some residual E swell. Armand, AndrewB & PeteH got amongst it with the 70 odd other competitors on the day. With Armand coming in 14th in the 50-54 division, AndrewB 1st in the 40-45’s and PeteH 8th in Opens.
